Learn how to protect information

SENIOR SCAM STOPPERS

Assemblywoman Diane Dixon will give a presentation on fraud prevention alongside Jackie Wylie from the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) on Tuesday, July 9, at 9:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 4 for Leisure World residents.

During the presentation, residents can learn how to protect their personal information and what to do if they think they have been scammed.

Wylie will share information on how to safeguard personal information. Schemes are not just on the dark web. Scams can be in-person, on the computer, over the phone or even in text messages. Wiley will share how to recognize those tricks and what to do.

Financial expert Ben Wong will share how to protect your finances. His mother was a victim of a scam, and he will share her story and include ways people can avoid being another fraud statistic.

Call to reserve a spot at 949-798-7221. There will be free fraud prevention check pens and reusable bags courtesy of DFPI.
