AMERICAN LATINO CLUB
The American Latino Club will meet on Thursday, July 11, from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
The country of the month will be Honduras, and the club will enjoy a typical lunch from that country while learning about this beautiful and underrated country in Central America through an interesting video and discussion. Meal choices are arroz con pollo (rice and chicken) which comes with coleslaw and buttered toast, and pastelito (similar to a turnover) that has ground beef, rice and potato inside accompanied by red pickled cabbage.
The meal is $15 for members and $17 for guests. Payment must be sent to Treasurer Myriam Klotz no later than Monday, July 8, at 3 p.m., no exceptions. Payments must be sent to Klotz, either by U.S. mail or dropping it off in her mailbox at 13940 Thunderbird Drive, 6-G. Checks should be made payable to the American Latino Club. For more information about payment, call 714-746-9626. Members will be contacted by email or phone. Members and guests can bring their own lunch and pay $5 that includes beverages and dessert but must let Klotz know.
Speaker Bob Cohen will discuss how to prevent senior technology scams.
The club will meet on Friday, Aug. 9, in the Clubhouse 1 picnic area. The next meeting will be held on Sept. 13 at Clubhouse 2.
