Democratic Club

The Democratic Club’s next voter information meeting will be held on July 17 in Clubhouse 3, Room 3, at 1 p.m. The meeting will address issues relating to water. All interested LW Democrats and supporters are invited to attend.

The guest speaker for the meeting will be Karl Seckel. He is running in November for re-election to represent LW’s Division 4 on the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC). He was first elected in 2020 with the assistance of the LW Democratic Club.

Betty Yee, the female vice chair of the California Democratic Party, will be at the LW Democratic Club’s next membership meeting on Wednesday, July 24, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. She will lead a discussion on the Democratic Party’s role in the November General Election.

In order for attendees to have time to socialize with one another before the meeting begins, participants are invited to arrive as early as 12:45 p.m. Coffee, water and individually wrapped snacks will be available.

People can volunteer on the first Wednesday of the month from 9:30-11 a.m. to work Get-Out-The-Vote projects in the November general election by calling 805-588-5141 or emailing Kmoran97@yahoo.com. No experience required.

Democrats and supporters who want to learn more about the club or discuss politics with like-minded residents can stop by the booth outside of Clubhouse 6. The booth will be open on the first and third Tuesdays of July from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The club’s popular “Lunch Bunch” program will resume at 11:30 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning on Aug. 7 at the Sunny Side Café, located at 2940 Westminster Boulevard.Call 714-658-6111 or email debbiewrathall@mac. com for more information.
