Senate Bill 1 Streets Rehabilitation Project

The state controller appropriates funds to cities and counties for basic maintenance projects through Senate Bill 1, also known as SB 1. This is accomplished through the local roads and streets program.

To secure the funding each fiscal year, the Seal Beach Public Works Department submits a proposed project list that is adopted by the Seal Beach City Council to the California Transportation Commission for review and approval. The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) street projects proposed for the upcoming 2024-25 fiscal year includes the paving of the streets in College Park East and Old Town, and the arterial resurfacing of Seal Beach Boulevard from Westminster Avenue to North Gate Road.
