The Communion and worship service gathers at 13564 St. Andrews Drive at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome.
The congregations continue to collect donations of canned and boxed foods for the hungry. The coffee fellowship is held after service in the Fellowship Hall with coffee, tea and cookies. The Bible study will meet on Wednesday, June 26, to continue the study of Jesus’ miracles. This week, the group will look at the miracle at Bethesda in chapter seven of the workbook. The text from the Bible is John 5:1-15. Finck will lead the discussion. All are welcome to attend.
In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus had been preaching, teaching, and healing and wanted a few moments to stop and rest. He went out on the water with his disciples in a boat to get away from the crowd that would follow him.
Later, Jesus gets woken up by his apostles because they are panicking over a storm that came while he was sleeping. Jesus wakes and says “Peace! Be still!”
Once the storm settles, Jesus rebukes his followers asking them,“Why are you afraid? Have you so little faith?”
Many believers in Christ can relate to the disciples letting fear take over. However, they must remember that God will never give his people a cross that they cannot carry, with his help and grace. When challenged in life, believers must will remember to turn to him and ask for his help, believing he will freely give it.
