LW Baptist will meet on Sunday, June 23, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 4, knowing and claiming God’s salvation promises is faith’s vital emphasis.

God gave the people of Israel their inheritance, and his church one too. His promises are permanent and irrevocable, with spiritual and physical dimensions. God named Canaan as Israel’s land grant (Numbers 34), and defined its borders as 15th century B.C. Egyptian records also do. The territory is larger than that Israel possesses today. Nevertheless, the land and the Jewish heart are forever inseparable, because of God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Bible. Abraham’s blessing also comes to Christians, who believe in Jesus. “I pray,” writes the Apostle Paul, “that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe,” Ephesians 1:18-19.
