GAF brings back walk-and roll-a-thon

THE DATE

The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) has two major programs for residents coming in July, plus the return of an old tradition in the fall.

The GAF quarterly shredding service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, in the Clubhouse 2 parking lot from 10 a.m.-noon.

The battery recycling service will be held the following week on Tuesday, July 16, Clubhouse 2 from 10a.m.-noon.

The Golden Age Foundation will bring back an old event, the Walk & Roll-A-Thon, on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., beginning at Clubhouse 6.

The event started in 1998, with a sea of residents waiting at the start line to participate in the walk. The event ended in 2007.

The current GAF Board members thought it would be fun to bring back this event for the whole community to enjoy a day with exercise, entertainment and food.

More detailed information including registration, volunteering, and chances to sponsor the event will follow. Registration will open a month prior to the event.
