Community Church welcomes violinist Phillip Levy and pianist Tae Yeon Lim, to perform an afternoon concert featuring the music of Beethoven, Viardot and Tchaikovsky on Sunday, June 23, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 and $15 for seniors and students. If the ticket price is ever a challenge for a LW resident, call the church office at 562-431-2503, Tuesday-Thursday from 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. People can also pick up tickets at the church office at 14000 Church Place.

The scripture for the Father’s Day service on Sunday, June 16, comes from Paul’s letter to the Romans. Pastor’s Johan Dodge’s message is entitled “Abba,” and recalls the Trinity, with the Aramaic word “Abba,” a term of endearment that roughly trans-lates not as “father,” but rather as the more familiar “daddy.”

God is love, and Community Church aspires to be a place of love, kindness, and compassion. People are welcome to see what the “friendly church” is all about. Sunday worship is at 9:50 a.m., followed by a special Father’s Day fellowship and light refreshment.
