Club top score record set
SCRABBLE CLUB
The Leisure World Scrabble Club meets every Wednesday in Clubhouse 3, Room 5, from 1-4 p.m.
The club met on all four Wednesdays in May. There were 77 scores above 300 and 42 bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move). Seven of the scores were higher than 400, including one above 500.
Diane Seeger topped 300 14 times and had three bingos. Her best score was a 404. Bob Ruderman had 12 scores higher than 300 and 16 bingos. His top score was a club record of 519, one of two scores above 400.
Jim Schneiderman exceeded 300 11 times and recorded five bingos. His high score was a 392. Club president Larry Edgar had 10 scores above 300 and three bingos. He topped 400 twice, including a 468.
Wanda Bemben had eight scores higher than 300 and one bingo. Her best score was a 387. Sue Ann Gass posted five scores above 300, the best of which was a 341.
Myrna Loscuadro recorded three totals higher than 300, the highest of which was a 407, along with three bingos. Sylvia Makus had three scores in the 300s, including a 339.
Maria Giegerich exceeded 300 twice, the higher of which was a 311, and one bingo. Donna Perkins posted a score of 302.
