Let the Good Times Roll
“Rock and Roll Holiday” will be the theme for the Let the Good Times Roll show on Saturday, Nov. 18, in Clubhouse 2. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6.
Club members picked out their favorite melodies sung in those memorable holiday specials that were TV events of the ‘50s and ‘60s. People still enjoy those songs as evidenced by the sales of holiday albums by popular vocal artists. Songs will include “White Christmas,” “Blue Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Is Dat You Santy Clause,” and “Christmas in Dixie.” These songs, among others, will be joined by sounds of rock and roll to dance to, provided by the Legends of Rock Dance Band, led by Leisure World resident Jon Pearlstone.
The club will provide light refreshments and coffee. Ice and cups will be available if guests prefer to bring their own beverages and snacks. There is no admission fee but donations will be appreciated so the club can continue to provide live entertainment on the third Saturday of odd-numbered months.
