Assembly of God
It is easy to be overwhelmed by the barrage of bad news streaming in from all sources. The disturbing realization that one has so little control over bad things happening in the world can lead to anxiety, depression and fear. However, the Bible has provided an antidote to these feelings for thousands of years.
It is possible to fully recognize evil and its effects while maintaining inner peace. The key is being thankful to God for his provision in every situation. Developing a consistent attitude of gratitude opens a world of possibilities.
Pastor Chuck Franco will preach a mesage titled “In Everything Give Thanks,” from 1 Timothy 6:17 and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 this Sunday, Nov. 19. He encourages Assembly of God members to make Psalm 92:1 the theme of this coming season: “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.”
The Wednesday morning Bible study continues with the third session of “Faith in Hostile Times,” by Berni Dymet. This installment is titled “When Freedoms Come Under Threat.” It is important for Christians to be aware and prepared for opposition to Biblical principles. The loudest voice in an argument is not necessarily the one speaking truth.
It is vitally important for Christians to understand their freedoms and responsibilities and exercise them responsibly.
