Sunday, June 18, is Father’s Day. The Bible says, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.”

What blessing for God’s people to have such a Father, who replaces troubled thoughts, as he did Job’s, with peace, assurance, deliverance and victory. As the song says, “Leaning on the everlasting arms.” That’s the place of quiet rest for the people of God.

The Men’s Fellowship Group will meet Monday, June 19, at 10 a.m. to continue studying Ruth the Moabite. The Wednesday Bible study will meet June 21 at 3 p.m. to reflect on Psalm 57’s expression of being “under God’s wings.”
