Letters to the Editor Letters to the Editor

Editor,

One of the palm trees surrounding my unit fell to the ground during the heavy rain period we experienced the week of Jan. 8-14. Because the ground was so saturated from continuous heavy rain, the weight of the trunk couldn’t hold any longer when it started to slide.

Luckily, it fell to the grass area toward the unit, and didn’t block any sidewalks or damage any properties, thank God for that.

I would especially like to shout out to J.J. Landscaping for Jose Aquino’s swift response to clean up the mess the rain caused within one hour.

Please remember to be mindful of your flower bed area.

Anna Derby Mutual 5 Editor,

As many of my friends are aware, I am visually impaired and require very large print reading or books on tape from Braille Institute. Every morning I spend one hour with my daily devotions, making use of my quite large print Bible. After much use, the binding had become broken. After much thought, I thought maybe a piece of wood glued would give my Bible a longer life. It came to mind that the woodshop may be of help. I went to the woodshop in Clubhouse 1 and told the kind gentleman of my problem, he said he had just gotten some wood that morning. He thought it would be perfect, and it was. After a huge thank you and donation in the box there, the gentleman, his name I did not see, said “the Lord knew there would be a need for that piece of wood today, God bless you.”

There still are many kind deeds being done by kind people in Leisure World. I pray he will read this and know what it has meant to me.
