After weeks of rain, the Women’s Golf Club returns
After several weeks of rain, the Leisure World Women’s Golf Club was finally able to play their first tournament of 2023.
There were 42 golfers participating in the club’s weekly tournament held on Jan. 24. The women played for low gross, low net and chip-ins. A chip-in is when a player is able to put the ball in the hole from off the green.
The winners were: Flight A— Low Gross: Devora Kim, 27; Low Net: tie between Lisa Kim and Jassca Choi, 25. Chip-ins were made by Stella Yoon at Hole No. 2 and Soo Choi at Hole No. 5.
Flight B— Low Gross: tie between Chong Hee Kim with a chip-in on Hole No. 2 and Hae Lee, 31. Low Net: Bert Thompson, 25, with a chip-in on Hole No. 4.
Flight C— Low Gross: Eullia Kim, 30; Low Net: tie between Pam Krug and Sue Yokomi, 26.
Flight D— Low Gross: Kyung Ju, 34; Low Net: tie between Neva Senske and Keiko Sekino, 25.
