Traveling Tigers present a trip across India

The Traveling Tigers will meet Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Edward Hickman will speak about his trip to India. He traveled across the northern part of India, from the border of Pakistan at Wagha to the city of Varanasi. He witnessed the elaborate border closing ceremony between Pakistan and India, visited the Golden Temple of the Sikhs and traveled by train to Delhi. There were trips to Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park and Sarnath, where the Buddha first taught and Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. He also traveled by boat on the Ganges in Varanasi before returning to Delhi.

The club will begin with a members potluck. A short business meeting will follow at 1 p.m., followed by the presentation approximately 1:15 p.m. Members are asked to bring a dish to share and their own plate, utensils and coffee cup. Guests are requested to call Susan Shaver at (562) 795-9151.
