Scrabble
The Leisure World Scrabble Club met on all five Wednesdays in March. All combined, the members had 68 scores above 300 (including 15 higher than 400) and 50 bingos (i.e., the use of all seven tiles in one move).
Suthy Edgar had the highest score, a 476. It was one of the five times she topped 400. She had five other scores above 300 and 16 bingos. Bob Ruderman had the most bingos at 17. He had nine scores above 300, four of which were above 400. His best was a 434.
Larry Edgar posted the most scores above 300 with 15. Two of his scores were above 400, including a 423. He had five bingos. Diane Seeger recorded 12 totals above 300, four of them higher than 400. She had eight bingos. Wanda Bemben topped 300 eight times, with a high score of 392. She had two bingos. Denise Scott had three scores above 300, including a 401. She also had one bingo. Club President Maria Giegerich had three totals above 300, with a high of 361, and one bingo. Sylvia Makus and Marilyn Moody each had two scores above 300. Their best scores were 335 and 321, respectively.
The club meets every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5. Lunch will be served on April 27, starting at noon.
