Holy Family Catholic Church

Holy Family Catholic Church, 13900 Church Place, next to the St. Andrews Gate, will observe the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time on Oct. 31. The first reading is from Deuteronomy 6:2-6, and the second reading is from Hebrews 7:23-28. The Gospel reading is from Mark 12:28b-34.

All Saints

The feast of All Saints this year is on Monday, Nov. 1, Because it falls on a Monday, it is, therefore, not a Holy Day of Obligation. Holy Family will conduct daily Mass at 8:30 a.m.

All Souls The All Souls Mass on Tuesday, Nov. 2, will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the parish. Other All Souls Mass times include:

•All Souls Mass at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach will be held at 10 a.m. for English and at noon for Vietnamese speakers.

• A dedication ceremony honoring the families of those who have purchased or are interred at Christ Cathedral’s Memorial Gardens will be held on All Souls Day at 2 p.m. It will include a Mass, a procession, live music and a blessing of the cemetery grounds by multiple priests.

• Holy Family is offering a Novena of Masses, starting Wednesday, Nov. 3, for the “Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed–All Souls Day.” All Souls Day envelopes are in the pews.

The church is operating at its regular Mass schedule. Father Joseph Son Nguyen suggests that people wear masks while inside the church.

Saturday (Vigil Mass) is at 5 p.m., and Sunday Masses are at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon. Weekday Masses are Monday-Saturday at 8:30 a.m., and confessions are on Saturdays from 4-4:45 p.m.
