First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors.

Services

The First Christian Board is pleased to announce that services will resume at the church on weekend of Nov. 6-7. Saturday and Sunday services will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday Bible Study will begin on Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. The study will be taught by Jack Frost. Friday night prayer group has resumed and meets weekly in the church at 6.

Message

“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him” (Psalm 32:1-2).

Scripture clearly states all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. How can man set things right to achieve this promise of forgiveness? The New and Old Testaments of the Bible state there is a righteousness from God that is given to all that believe in his son, Jesus Christ. Romans 4:24 states this righteousness is given freely by his grace.

God sent his son to dwell on Earth and ultimately die as a sacrifice of atonement. Simply put, a person who truly believes that God sent his son, Jesus Christ, as a perfect atonement and asks for forgiveness can receive the free gift and blessing described in Psalm 32. There are 66 books of the Bible that tell this story over and over from beginning to end. Faith, forgiveness and a multitude of promises are included in the pages of those books; reading them has changed the lives of an innumerable amount of people throughout the ages.

Scripture of the Week “Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous” (Isaiah 29:14).
