Experts offer tips for searching
Computers, cell phones and tablets are a boon and a bane for the genealogist. At the general membership meeting of the Leisure World Genealogy Club on Aug. 25 at 10 a.m., Computer Solutions specialists Tina Schaffer and Jeff Plum will share some tips and software tools. During this meeting, which will be held via Zoom, they will also emphasize what not to click on when researching online and discuss scanning or taking pictures of old photos, documents and gravesites. Efficiently using your phone or tablet is especially handy if you are at a library or in another state.
Schaffer has been in the computer industry for more than 20 years. She has been helping Leisure World residents for almost 14 years.
Whether you are a genealogist or not, be sure to tune into this meeting. For access, email a request for an invite to lwgenealogy@ gmail.com. For further information, call Mary Romero at (562) 810-4266.
