LW is a POD

The Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) has designated Leisure World as a Point of Distribution (POD) site for the COVID-19 vaccine. It is one of the first PODs that are up and running, thanks to foresight and diligence in meeting conditions and logistical requirements set by the OCHCA. Those who are 65 years and older are currently eligible, in accordance with Orange County guidelines.

It is anticipated that everyone in LW who wants to be vaccinated will have the opportunity to do so, as allocations are received. People do not need to be members of OptumCare at the HCC to receive the free vaccine. As updates occur, residents will be notified via LW Live, lwsb.com and the LW Weekly.
