“A gift to the Golden Age Foundation is a gift back to your community–leaving a lasting legacy.”

The Golden Age Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to serving the special needs of shareholders and residents. The foundation was established in 1973 by members of the Board of Directors of the Golden Rain Foundation.

Its purpose is to make the community a better place to live. Through the generosity of individuals in Leisure World, GAF is able to provide various programs and projects.

This year, many nonprofit organizations have been shaken by the effects of COVID-19. The need for help and services from nonprofits this year has not diminished, but increased.

Most nonprofit organizations raise funds through events; however due to the pandemic limiting the ability to hold large gatherings, nonprofit organizations have been hit hard and are coming up with new ways to raise funds.

Over the next few weeks, the Golden Age Foundation will publish different ways that shareholders can support GAF programs. A few ways LWers have donated to GAF in the past include considering the Golden Age Foundation when planning a will or estate or choosing to donate to GAF as part of charitable givings.

Some things to consider when deciding on GAF donations are:

• Previous legacy contributions from generous shareholders have funded many projects that benefit the entire community, including major improvements to the exercise center and a mobilityimpaired bus.

• The Golden Age Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization - (tax ID # 23-7273105).

• If you are interested in a legacy contribution, consult with your estate planning professional.
