Activities may have slowed for many Leisure World clubs, but Rollin’ Thunder Golf Cart Club is gearing up for one of its busiest months of the year. And all LWers are welcome to participate.

The club will hold its quarterly Air & Water Day on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse 4 parking lot. Club volunteers will check golf cart tire pressure and battery water levels for all LW cart owners. At the September event, more than 100 carts were checked and serviced.

There is never a charge for this valuable service, and all LW cart owners are urged to participate. Club membership is not required.

Entrance to the inspection site will be on the alley roadway that connects Northwood Road and North Gate Road on the east side of Clubhouse 3. Signs and traffic cones will be posted and monitored by Security staff.

During the event, a few, vitally important safety rules MUST be followed: masks must be worn at all times; no more than two persons per cart; drivers must remain in their carts until batteries are checked. Drivers who leave their carts to talk with friends or refuse to wear masks may be asked to leave the cart lineup and lose the opportunity for the inspection.

Due to the outdoor nature of this event, heavy rainfall will cause the A& W Day to be postponed to Tuesday, Dec. 8.

The annual Golf Cart Club Holiday Parade, sponsored by the Rollin’ Thunder Club with the assistance of the Golden Rain Foundation, is set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 12. The route, beginning and ending at Clubhouse 6, will cover most of LW’s main thoroughfares and larger residential streets. Parade formation will be at 4 p.m. to add Headers.indd 1 Map of the Golf Cart Club's Holiday Parade course.

special last-minute seasonal decorations; carts will roll at 4:30 p.m. In case of severe rain, sleet or hail, the parade will be postponed until Friday, Dec. 18. If it drizzles, however, the parade is still a go. As a reminder: hose participating in the parade should make sure cart batteries are fully charged, and gasoline carts should have full gas tanks; the parade’s slow speed and frequent starts and stops can quickly drain a golf cart’s power.
